Attachment Style

## What is attachment style?

A pattern of forming bonds, shaped in early childhood. Bowlby created the theory, Ainsworth identified three styles: **secure**, **anxious-ambivalent** and **avoidant**. A fourth, **disorganized**, was added later.

## Why does it matter?

Influences romantic relationships, friendships and well-being in adult life.

## How is it measured?

**ECR-R**, **ASQ** and **RQ**.
