Big Five-50 vs TIPI β Long or Short Personality Test?
Big Five-50 and TIPI both measure the same five personality dimensions (openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism), but differ significantly in accuracy. Big Five-50 uses 10 items per dimension, producing more reliable and stable results.
TIPI (Ten-Item Personality Inventory) is an ultra-brief version with just 2 items per dimension. It was designed by Gosling for situations where time is limited. While correlations with full-length tests are moderate, TIPI is not suitable for serious decisions.
The choice depends on your goal: if you want a reliable personality profile, choose Big Five-50. If you need a quick overview in 2 minutes, TIPI will suffice.
