What is leadership?
Leadership is the process of influencing people to want to achieve a common goal. Modern models: transformational (inspiration, vision), transactional (exchange, control), servant (supporting the team), authentic (alignment with values).
Why does it matter?
Leadership style is a stronger predictor of team engagement and performance than team composition. Toxic leadership is one of the main causes of burnout and turnover.
How is it measured?
Leadership Style Inventory (various versions), MLQ (Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire β Bass & Avolio), correlates: Big Five (especially extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness).
